Trying out a different painting style where I avoided using lines beyond my preliminary sketch, and it was really fun! Definitely procrastinating when I should be working on stuff for finals, but oh well 
This is a painting of one of my wildkin races - valekin, that I've been roughing out for a while.
Some details: They live beneath the roots of the Fellwood's giant trees. The roots pass overhead like a canopy, and no sunlight makes it to the hollows underneath. That darkness has given birth to all sorts of blind, pigmentless cave-type creatures. The valekin themselves aren't totally blind, though. Their eyes are hyper-sensitive to light, and can see enough by the glow of moss and other luminescent plants. They use their keen smell and hearing to guide them more than anything, sniffing out mushrooms and other goodies. They also hunt by listening for the skittering of beetles and other yummy things.
