Every time i redesign her I get closer and closer to what I want. Got inspired by blind cave-dwelling animals and their lack of pigment. (Her people live in deep-dark-burrows in the Fellwood, which is pretty damn dark on its own) Looked to bats for the ear design and cave-fish for the semi-translucent skin.
I've stopped trying to cling to an idea of 'humanity' when thinking about wildkin, particularly the wildkin of the Fellwood, and I think its for the best. They're coming into their own as a race, visually and culturally. Going for a sort of feral and (for lack of a better word) sum-human aspect to them, pale and dirty and gangly.
I'm sure there's a ways to go before I'm satisfied with a lot of my character designs and races, but it's getting there. Slowly but surely c:
